The Imperial Harem is a labyrinthine section of Topkapi Palace where the Sultan's family and concubines lived in high secrecy.
This vast complex contains over 300 rooms, though only a select fraction are open to the public. It served as the private domain of the Ottoman royal family for roughly 400 years.
A combined ticket for foreign visitors costs 2,750 TL, which includes the palace, Hagia Irene, and the Harem. A Harem-only ticket is available for 1,050 TL.

These grand chambers belonged to the Queen Mother. She was often the most powerful woman in the Harem and the empire. Look up to see the beautifully painted dome ceilings and ornate gilded decorations.

The famous Ottoman architect Sinan designed this room. It features an indoor fountain and a massive fireplace. It is widely considered one of the most perfectly preserved surviving Ottoman rooms.

This open terrace overlooks the Golden Horn. The sultan's favored concubines resided here in specialized apartments. Walk to the edge for a great elevated view over the outer palace gardens.
